Peace Orihime is made using cranes offered at the Children's Peace Monument in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Rather than discarding the enormous number of donated cranes, the paper is recycled so that their colours and fragments become part of a new sheet.
Because many different cranes are used in production, no two sheets look exactly alike. The two sides have a similar colour appearance but different textures, with a smoother front and more tactile reverse. The 15cm format is especially fitting for folding new peace cranes, as well as for meaningful gifts, memorial projects and traditional origami.
